These wire connectors are made from a brass alloy with a galvanized tin coating and are insulated with polyvinyl chloride. They are used as non-insulated connectors, as the insulated part protects the cores from bending and breaking at the connection point, while simultaneously protecting personnel from direct contact with live parts.
The connection is made using a crocodile clamp with mechanical pressure on the connector and the conductor.
