They block particles from breathing, speaking, sneezing, and coughing so that the person wearing it does not transmit them.


The letter "R" indicates that the mask also protects against liquid splashes (e.g. saliva, blood).


The person wearing it is protected to a greater extent than with cloth masks, and to a lesser extent than with FFP2 masks.
