This book refers to the history of the villages of the former province of Ilia in the year of the Ottoman conquest (1460) and, therefore, to the history of these villages in the later Byzantine years.

It examines, by name, 94 villages from that time, in terms of population (where all the names of the inhabitants are recorded), ethnological and economic aspects, as well as the fate of these villages during the Ottoman domination, as well as the history of some others that emerged in the area during the Turkish occupation, such as Pyrgos.

This book is aimed at all those who are interested in the local Ilian and generally Peloponnesian history, historians, researchers, and mainly at the residents of today's villages and cities, who as readers will become partakers of the history of their place, but will also walk and converse with the former inhabitants of their villages, so they can sense their roots.
