Notocactus leninghausii inermis
Family: Cactaceae
Pot diameter: 8.5cm, Height: 15-18cm.
Also known as Parodia scopa, it is a cactus plant highly appreciated by cactus enthusiasts due to its impressive and numerous purple-red spines, which contrast with the even more abundant thin white spines. The dark green body is spherical, which over time may take on a cylindrical shape. Around the slightly concave top, numerous funnel-shaped yellow flowers bloom in the summer.
Care:
- It loves very bright locations, but can also withstand direct sunlight during the hottest hours of the day.
- It prefers mild temperatures, but can survive at temperatures close to zero if the soil is dry.
- Water moderately, only when the soil is completely dry.
- It is sufficient to water once a week in spring and summer, and to completely suspend watering in winter.
- The best type of soil is well-drained, preferably enriched with inert materials such as pumice, sand, or perlite.
- It does not require frequent fertilization; it is enough to dissolve the fertilizer with watering once a year.
