The injured Kim has been rescued by Hector, but they are trapped in the extensive cave network of the planet. Steve and Inge leave the mission behind to search for them. All of them traverse numerous, circular routes, trying to avoid the particularly hostile and dangerous fauna in order to reunite. But the nightmarish representatives are not the only ones down there. A strange technology is revealed, and the Yuum come and go in great numbers. Soon, an alien yet eerily familiar sight will put Kim on the trail of Betelgeuse's hidden secret.
