Enteral feeding in general:
Enteral feeding is a type of artificial nutrition used for patients who cannot be fed through the normal feeding route, or when oral feeding capability is insufficient to meet the patient's nutritional needs.
The causes of feeding inability can be functional or anatomical. As artificial nutritional support, it involves the administration of nutritional solutions via the enteral or intravenous route.
Enteral feeding includes the use of oral nutritional supplements and feeding tubes or catheters for cases of feeding or swallowing inability.
It's necessary to establish a personalized diet for the patient's needs and prescribe appropriate enteral or parenteral feeding formulations.
