Vertical Butter Barrel
Traditional name: Bottinelo, xylangi
A traditional wooden vessel used to pour milk and churn it until it transforms into butter.
It features a long stick with a round surface at one end that has large holes.
Butter Preparation Instructions:
- Collect the milk and let it sour for a few days.
- Fill the barrel (maximum 1/3 of the barrel) with the milk.
- Start churning with the special long stick until the final result is pieces of fat (butter) and buttermilk.
- Collect the butter from the surface into a container, drain it, and rinse it with cold water. The rinsing process can be repeated several times until the water no longer changes color.
- Store in containers, and it is ready for use.
