Don't expect intense bass or the car to shake, but it definitely helps to complete your sound system. The body is metallic (possibly aluminum). This is good for sturdiness but also for heat dissipation (and it gets quite warm). It comes with a bass knob that does the same as the bass boost on the subwoofer panel. It also has speaker-level inputs if you don't have RCA outputs on the radio. It looks sturdy and well-made. Overall, the bass response is just okay. It's not the best sound, but you can definitely hear and feel it sometimes. For under 100 euros, I find no reasons to complain.
