We were raised from a young age with phrases like: "What will people say?", "What will society say?", "Aren't you ashamed to do these things and have the neighborhood talking about us?". We heard them many times a day, repeated as an answer to everything, the last or the first argument. "Eat, so people don't say we don't feed you!", "Study, so people don't say you're stupid!", "Read, so people don't say we don't care about your school!", "You won't go out for people to see you like that!", "Get dressed, so they don't say we don't care about you!". From a young age, we are taught that people are always critically involved in every aspect of our lives. And guess what... in the end, they really are, because they were raised with the same mentality and consider it normal, just like the parents who reproduce it, along with a sense of shame.
