When the American minister Hiram B. Otis purchased the Canterville Chase, he paid no attention to the warnings that a ghost named Sir Simon lived there, wandering the halls of the mansion undisturbed, trying to scare off the new tenants. Indeed, when the family settles in, strange things begin to happen: a bloodstain that changes color, mysterious noises at night, ancient prophecies, and a journey to the Garden of Death... However, the Otis family is not frightened at all. On the contrary, the poor ghost faces many unexpected surprises... The Canterville Ghost is the first work by the English author Oscar Wilde that was published. It is a humorous story, filled with innuendos, that was released in 1887 in two parts and has since been widely adapted for theater and film.
