The air receiver tanks for air compressors (compressors) are characterized as a storage medium in any compressed air system.

The vertical air receiver is primarily used in central installations, as it takes up less space and also functions as a primary separator to remove condensates (moisture, dust, etc.) that are carried with the compressed air. The compressed air enters the receiver from a low inlet and exits from a high outlet, trapping condensates at the bottom of the tank, which can be drained manually or automatically.

The air receiver tanks (compressor receivers) also provide stability of pressure within a compressed air system. In cases where the pipe diameter is small or in other cases of incorrect installation with large fluctuations or drops in air pressure, placing an air receiver tank at a chosen point will significantly help in stabilizing the pressure.
