Description

Description

Inverter Technology

The Inverter technology it features initially makes the air conditioner operate at maximum capacity until the set temperature is reached, and then it operates minimally and continuously, maintaining a stable temperature level in the space. This makes it more efficient combined with low consumption.

Air Filter

It contains an additional filter to improve the air in the space, which traps large dust and pollen particles present in the air and removes odors.

Eco-Friendly Refrigerant R32

It uses the eco-friendly refrigerant R32, which is environmentally friendly and has 68% lower global warming potential compared to R410A. Additionally, R32 can deliver the same thermal power as R410A with 30% less refrigerant, meaning that less refrigerant is required for each unit. As a result, total carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced by approximately 75%. Another advantage is that R32 is not a mixture but a homogeneous fluid and can be more easily recycled and reused.

I have only tested it for HEATING.

    - HEATING CONSUMPTION
With an outside temperature of 5C, in heating mode at 25C in a 25 sq.m. room (inside temperature 16.8C, 1980s insulation), it reached a peak consumption of 2150W (I never saw it draw more, not even at startup) and after 15 minutes it started inverting at an average of 900-700W. It reached the desired temperature of 24C, but high up at the indoor unit sensor, since unfortunately it does NOT have an 'iSense'-type function (sensor in the remote control). The room temperature reached 19.3C.
In one hour (the 1st hour, which is the most power-hungry), under these conditions, it consumes 0.98kWh.
In the 2nd hour it raised the temperature by +1C, to 20.3C, consuming 0.66kWh.
In the 3rd hour I tried a desired 30C in Turbo mode, it raised the indoor temperature to 22.1C and consumed 1.38kWh. The max it consumed at any time was 2150W (9.4A - 230V).

    - HEATING PERFORMANCE
Since it manages to bring the indoor temperature from 16.8 to 20.3C, in a 25 sq.m. space within 2 hours, consuming 1.64kWh, the performance is considered very satisfactory.
And in terms of the feeling of warmth, it gives the impression that it handles the 25 sq.m. space comfortably, producing an immediately noticeable flow of warm air from the 1st minute of operation.
I believe the 12000BTU model would cover the same 25 sq.m. space, but only marginally (especially in the case of existing 3×1.5 mm² wiring with a 10A fuse, since for the 18000BTU a 3×2.5 mm² with a 16A fuse is recommended).

    - BUILD QUALITY
The plastics creak slightly, but they do not inspire sturdiness; they are quite thin, so if you do annual maintenance, be careful when disassembling the indoor unit.

    - NOISE
The indoor unit is excellent in terms of noise, even on the high fan setting. The plastics creak slightly, only for 2-3' during sudden temperature changes.
The outdoor unit is quite noisy, but not to the point of being audible indoors. It does not make rattling noises or vibrations, even though rubber mounts/spacers were not used.

    - ELECTRICAL
I have never seen it draw more than 2150 kW (9.4A 240V) from the outlet (with a reservation for more extreme conditions and unmeasurable transient spikes), and only for a few minutes.
I have it electrically connected to 3×1.5 mm² wiring with a 10A fuse, which is NOT RECOMMENDED (3×2.5 mm² with a 16A fuse is recommended), but so far it has not triggered the safety measures I have taken (safety relay in the panel, power surge protector with OverCurrentProtection at the outlet)

    - WiFi
Easy connectivity with the SmartLife app. I did not use the recommended VeeZy even though it has more control options, because in SmartLife I have all my automations.

It is most likely a MIDEA rebrand.
