The kingdom is reuniting, but the work of El Cascadero and his ministers has just begun. Many challenges and opportunities await the kingdom. Bandits threaten to overrun the cities, rivers present new ways of transportation, trade continues to grow, and borders must be defended.

Cascadito is the smaller spiritual sibling of Reiner Knizia's large tile-placement strategy game, Cascadero. Each player receives their own sheet and a pencil. They roll 6 dice, and players take turns rolling a die to fill a space on their map. The dice show 5 colors, representing the 5 types of cities on the map. When a colored die is chosen, the player fills a space next to a corresponding colored city.

Reaching cities with groups of filled spaces, players activate city scoring in the achievement book on their sheet. If players plan their routes wisely, these cascading achievements can trigger a cascade of combinations that will give them a competitive edge in acquiring public achievements and private bonuses. The game ends immediately when all public achievements are claimed or when a player wins all private bonuses. Players then sum up their successes and achievements to determine the winner.

Cascadito retains the challenging, combinatorial core of Cascadero - the interaction between the map and the achievement book - while providing a refreshingly unique and complementary experience. Players are limited to the dice choices on the table and must carefully watch their opponent's plans and routes when drafting a die on their turn.
