Water-soluble

The POSCA color is "water-soluble": it can be diluted to create a gradient effect. The operation is performed before drying: use a brush that you have previously soaked in water and work the color directly onto the material to achieve the desired result.

Color mixing

As long as the color is wet, colors can be mixed on the work surface by blending with the tip or with a brush to create infinite shades. If the tip is dirty, just clean it and use the marker again to restore the original color.

Ideal for layering

Thick and opaque, the POSCA color is ideal for layering! Dark colors can be applied over light colors or light colors over dark. Thanks to the quick drying time, layering can be done without smudging. Before applying the next layer, make sure that the already applied color has dried completely.

Prepare the Posca marker

Shake the marker vigorously up and down with the cap on. You will hear the ball inside moving. This indicates that the color inside the POSCA marker is mixing.

Test the marker

Press the tip several times on a scrap piece of paper until the tip fills with color. Test the flow on the scrap paper – if the line is clean, your POSCA is ready. It is helpful to keep a cloth nearby for easily cleaning the tip or absorbing any excess color.

Tip cleaning

If necessary, you can clean the marker tip with water as often as needed. If you see that the tip has dried, you can even leave it in water overnight.

Tip replacement

If the tip becomes unusable, it can be flipped to use the other side. Reversible tips: PC-3M and PC-5M. Replacement tips: PC-1MC, PC-3M, PC-5M, PC-7M, PC-8K, PC-17K.

Storage conditions

POSCA markers can be stored in any position, as long as the cap is replaced after use. The ball inside the marker serves to mix the color, which is perfectly preserved inside the marker.
