Description

In this book from the award-winning series Little People, BIG DREAMS, we discover the life of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, the talented pilot and author. Little Antoine grew up in Lyon, France, and was a curious and creative child who enjoyed reading fairy tales, conducting experiments, and writing. Fascinated by airplanes, he always dreamed of flying in the sky. When he joined the French army during World War II, he finally had the opportunity.

Antoine spent a short time in the air force before changing career paths and becoming a mail pilot, writing about his adventures in the clouds at the same time. In 1935, he crashed into the desert while flying from Paris to Saigon. With only a few supplies, he fell seriously ill and fortunately, after four days, was found by a passerby and recuperated. This experience greatly influenced Antoine's later writing. He later moved to the United States, where he fought for France's freedom from Nazism. During this period, he wrote The Little Prince, the enchanting story of love and loss that became one of the best-selling children's books of all time.

This powerful book includes stylish and unique illustrations and extra facts at the back, including a biographical timeline with historical photos and a detailed profile of the author's life. The Little People, BIG DREAMS series is a series of biographies for children that explores the lives of outstanding people, from designers and artists to scientists and activists. All of them achieved incredible things, but they all began their lives as children with a dream.

This series of books offers inspiring messages to children of all ages, in a variety of formats. Board books are written in simple sentences, perfect for reading to babies and toddlers. The hardcover editions present expanded stories for beginning readers. With revised text for older students, the treasures bring together a host of dreamers in one volume. There is also the option to collect a selected number of books by theme in a gift set. Activity books and a diary provide even more ways to make these role models' lives accessible to children.

Inspire the next generation of outstanding people who will change the world with Little People, BIG DREAMS!
