The Graf von Faber-Castell collection presents the Pen of the Year 2022, inspired by the culture and religious rituals of the Aztecs.

The grip of the Pen is made from obsidian, known as volcanic glass, which had spiritual significance for the Aztecs. The relief form in the turquoise stone depicts the god of the underworld Mictlantecutli.

The anthracite metal barrel of the 2022 Pen, with a "Diamond Like Carbon" coating, features a skull pattern inspired by the walls of the Templo Mayor temple.
