This is an entry-level coffee machine. I bought it because it is marked that its pump is Italian-made and I was coming from 2 DeLonghi coffee machines which had pump problems after 1 year and 7 years respectively. It has a touch screen for all functions and as a result, there are no buttons or switches except for a dial on the right side which turns on and adjusts the steam flow. This dial is very important because if the water tank runs out during coffee preparation, in order for the pump to start working properly again after adding water, you need to turn the dial and let a little water and steam out. Otherwise, the pump cannot fill with water and coffee cannot be made. Overall, its appearance is quite good and in no way does it look like a cheap construction. It definitely looks like it costs much more than its price, mainly due to the black touch screen. The coffee it makes has a unique taste that I haven't encountered even in most bar machines. It is much creamier than usual and as a result, it has a particularly nice taste even without milk froth or milk. Anyone who has tried it agrees that it has a particularly nice taste even with a single coffee filter. It also has a group for using Nespresso-type capsules, but in this case, the coffee does not have much crema. I bought it 2-3 months ago and use it daily, but I can't have an opinion on its durability over time. My final opinion is that it is definitely worth buying. For the price and the quality of coffee it provides, it is definitely a very good opportunity.

First acquaintance
The Izzy IZ-9017 Sicily espresso machine follows the classic squared design, with a black color and silver details.
At the front, there is a touch screen with buttons for power on/off, coffee brewing selection, and steam selection, while in the center, the temperature of the water during operation is displayed, but more importantly, the extraction time.
On the right, there is the steam adjustment knob and just below it, the steam wand for making hot frothy milk as well as providing hot water for tea.
The package includes 2 group heads. One accepts the two coffee baskets for single and double shots. The other is slightly larger to accommodate capsules compatible with Nespresso machines using a special attachment!
The water tank is, of course, removable and has a capacity of 1 liter. For greater ease of use, it has a handle inside for removal.
The drip tray at the bottom is removable for easy cleaning and has an indicator with a plastic lift so you know when it needs to be emptied. On the top, there is a metal surface for preheating cups.
Along with the machine comes a measuring spoon and tamper to press the coffee into the baskets.
The machine has a power of 1100W and a pressure of 20bar.

Tests
As usual, with the Izzy IZ-6017 espresso machine, I tested 2 different coffees, pre-ground commercial coffee and freshly ground from the coffee roastery. For this specific one, I also tried Nespresso capsules as well as some others from third-party manufacturers.
For making a single shot, 7 grams of ground coffee are required, while for a double shot, 14 grams, which is the usual amount for most semi-automatic espresso machines in this category.
The coffee comes out with the right color, good crema, and proper temperature.
The attachment for Nespresso and Nespresso-type capsules is easy to use, and all you need to do is insert the capsule and screw it in. The result is about 80-90% the same as the corresponding Nespresso machine, which is expected since they are designed differently and do not operate in exactly the same way. Although the result is not exactly the same, it is an additional feature that this machine offers and is, of course, welcome.
The steam from the wand is strong, and once you learn how to use it, it produces proper frothy milk for cappuccino or any other beverage.
In a nice positive that I did not expect, you can adjust and change the extraction time for single and double shots, to bring them closer to your preferences and the use that suits you and you want.
What bothered me? The baskets that do not click into the group in the usual way with the bump. And for emptying, you have to use the lever to hold the basket. The baskets with the bump are the most common and convenient way. In more expensive models, they fit well into the group.
Also, as with another espresso machine model I had shown, I find absolutely no usefulness in the display of temperature, since it is not something I can change or control. On the other hand, the display of the extraction time combined with the ability to change the time is a very significant positive!

Final Impressions
What is the final verdict? As with all semi-automatic espresso machines, it will take several trials and experiments for the result to be satisfactory and to resemble the coffee we get outside. Of course, especially in this price category, we cannot have professional-level expectations, something that for most people does not exist anyway when they are simply looking for an affordable machine to make espresso at home.
I could compare it with the competition and mention that there are more economical solutions with the same features, if we do not take into account the option of using Nespresso capsules, a feature that exists in very few semi-automatic espresso machines on the market and certainly gives an advantage when choosing them.
At €100 - €120, it is a good choice for an espresso machine for those who want to try the techniques and processes of a semi-automatic machine before purchasing a more expensive model. Or for those who simply want to be able to make a simple espresso or cappuccino at home, with ground coffee or Nespresso capsules.
