When installing a new head on an old air compressor of any brand, pay attention to the following among other things:

  • Pulley diameter: Check the diameter of the pulley on the previous motor as well as the flywheel. The number of head revolutions depends on the motor pulley and the head flywheel. Allow a tolerance in revolutions at least 15% below the MAXIMUM.
  • Oil in the crankcase: Be sure to put oil in the crankcase before starting (SAE 15W50).
  • Flywheel rotation direction: Check the rotation direction of the flywheel. It should be done according to the arc to cool the head.
  • Belt tightening: Properly tighten the drive belt and the fittings of the pipe that carries the air to the air tank. Check the fittings for any leaks at the time of operation.
  • Pressure switch and check valve: Check the pressure switch and the check valve internally. Ensure the presence of a safety valve.
