The workbooks accompanying Music in Theory and Practice, Volumes 1 and 2, provide exercises to supplement those printed in the text.
- Music collections for study
- Strategies for learning and reviewing the material
- Self-assessment sections to help students prepare for exams
Three different types of exercises help students understand the course material:
- Repetitive exercises: Provide practice on the core material of the corresponding chapter in the text.
- Analytical exercises: Familiarize students with music literature, allowing them to see the chapter material in its real context.
- Composition exercises: Encourage students to try out their own ideas using musical ideas, progressive chords, phrase relationships, etc., within the context of a musical composition.
Selected workbook examples are available in Finale templates through the Online Learning Center.
