Uses
After mixing with cement and water, it can be used, replacing cement mortar, in fillings and floor coverings, and in shaping slopes on terraces. PERLITE MIX BETON gives the final fresh product excellent pumpability and ease of spreading. The final surface is light and strong, and tiles, granite, etc., can be directly adhered to it. Its compressive strength can reach up to 80 kg/m², depending on the amount of cement you use in the mix. It is an ideal solution for renovating old floors.
Advantages
- Provides excellent pumpability and workability.
- The desired coating (tile, granite, etc.) can be directly adhered to the final surface.
- Achieves speed and economy (combination of pumpability, single layer, and ease of spreading).
- Improves the seismic behavior of the building due to the low weight of the floor filling layer.
- Has thermal and sound insulation properties.
- Has very good behavior in thermal expansion (same coefficient of expansion as ceramic tiles).
- Product is unalterable and stable over time (mineral mixture).
- Non-combustible (mineral expanded with heat).
- Non-toxic. There is no release of toxic gases or fumes under the influence of heat.
Application Method
Floors:
- Sweep the surface that is to be filled.
- Level it with battens (strands).
- Spray it and smooth it "pulled" over the edges.
- For fillings over 15 cm, initially fill to about half the height and after 2-3 hours (on the same day) complete the filling.
- The next day (in summer), or the second day after application (in winter), sand the surface with the beam (as in cement screeds).
- Moisten the surface the next day (in summer) or the day after filling (in winter) to increase strength.
- Before laying the surface (with tiles, etc.), it is recommended to avoid stressing it.
- Before spreading tile adhesive, the surface should be swept and moistened.
- If you are laying continuous areas over 25 m², or balconies, it is recommended to create a perimeter expansion joint 0.5 cm thick using expanded polyethylene.
- Tile bonding should be done after the filling has dried well.
- Clean the surface of the terrace from soil and other materials.
- Place perimeter expansion joints 2-3 cm thick, placing low-density expanded polystyrene on the parapets.
- Fill the joints with special filling material.
- Cover the surface with insulating material to create a vapor barrier.
- If desired, place thermal insulation material.
- Waterproof (seal) the surface properly before tiling or placing terrace slabs.
- If waterproofing is done with asphalt membrane with granules, on non-walkable terraces, it is advisable to install vapor ventilators.
- Mixing with a shovel: Add a little water to each bag of PERLITE MIX BETON.
- Empty and mix, preferably, 3 bags of PERLITE MIX BETON with 1 bag of 50 kg cement, and add water so that...
