Don't Cry, Dad consists of short stories about women of different ages. Tina experiences the traumatic event of her first visit to the gynecologist. Kaiti is swept away by her friend and spends her savings on clothes that she had saved for a wisdom tooth extraction. A young wife is forced to live with her mother-in-law. Each story is a small drama that leads to emotional dead ends, tensions, and the collapse of family relationships.

The award-winning Roumena Bouzarovska (born North Macedonia, 1981) portrays women, their resistance, and their crushing under the pressure of a "decaying" patriarchal society. In the Aldina series, her short story collections, My Husband and I’m Not Going Anywhere, are also published.
