Hair definitely breaks less than with other brushes. But ok, it doesn't perform miracles, it's a simple brush made of plastic. On both dry and wet hair, I didn't notice breakage like in the past. My hair, of course, is straight and doesn't have knots, etc., so I don't know how well it detangles curly or more tangled hair. I bought it because my hair is highly processed (bleaching, dyes, heat), so it doesn't break as easily. It definitely helps with that.
