Description

The herbal tinctures are derived from soaking an herb in an alcoholic solution (usually pure alcohol) for a period of 4-6 weeks. During this time, the active ingredients of the herb dissolve into the alcoholic solution, resulting in the tincture. Tinctures are much more potent than extracts and infusions.

The Elderberry tincture (Sambucus nigra) contains the same active ingredients as the dried Elder herb. In modern herbal medicine, Elder is primarily used for treating flu and its symptoms. Two independent clinical studies have shown that consuming Elderberry significantly reduces both the symptoms and recovery time from the flu (both type A and type B).

  • Elder contains the highest potassium nitrate compared to any other herb and is rich in many vitamins (mainly A, B, C).
  • The leaves act as an external emollient and healing agent, internal laxative, expectorant, diuretic, and sudorific.
  • They can be used for bruises, sprains, wounds, and chilblains in the form of a hot compress.
  • For colds and fevers, Elder is combined with Peppermint, Yarrow, or Hyssop, while for the flu, it is combined with Agrimony.
  • For runny nose, it can be combined with Goldenrod.

Tinctures retain all the active ingredients of the herb, are particularly simple to take, and are completely natural. They are superior to dietary supplements in tablet form, as they do not contain chemicals and preservatives and are absorbed much more effectively by the body.

The usual dosage is 1ml (about 20 drops per day). They should not be consumed during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

All herbal tinctures are prepared according to the requirements and conditions of the European GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).
