The Hellenocentric nature of Fasianou did not prevent him from being an international painter. His particularly personal idiom of writing and narration manages to realize not only the fantasies of the Greek viewer but also of every person who can communicate with art.

I always remember the intense emotion when, returning from Paris, I stopped to see the Biennale in Venice and of course the Greek pavilion. Alekos Fasianos had been sent there by the Ministry of Culture. Looking ecstatically at those magical works – languorous women in red dresses lying in rooms with black-and-white tiles, hovering flies, open windows overlooking the Acropolis and the radiant light of Attica – I was left speechless. I had magically transported myself to Greece.
