The surgical suture PROFIMED-PTFE is a sterile monofilament non-absorbable suture made from polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) polymer. It is indicated for the retention in contact or for the approximation of soft tissues, for use in cardiac surgery and dental procedures.

The use of PROFIMED-PTFE is not indicated for ophthalmic surgeries, microsurgery, and peripheral nerve tissue. After its implantation, it causes minimal local tissue inflammation, characterized by a foreign body reaction, followed by the development of fibrous connective tissue.
