The party game Stringamajig combines drawing and miming with a string. In each round, players have 60 seconds to draw a shape with a string, move it, and interact with it, trying to help the other players guess the word and as many other words as possible within the allotted time.
During a player's turn, they select the top card from the deck, with each card showing four numbered objects or phrases. The numbers on the top card indicate the objects that the drawer can choose to depict with the string.
When the drawer is ready, they flip the hourglass, grab the string, and start "drawing" — they can interact with their drawing to help others guess the object, such as playing a guitar, moving the tentacles of an octopus, or spinning the rotors of a helicopter. The drawer cannot make sounds, and one end of the string must remain touching the table during the depiction. Otherwise, the drawer can get into "crazy" situations.
The other players shout out their ideas, and when one player correctly guesses the word, they take the card, while the drawer quickly moves on to their next drawing. When time runs out, the drawer earns 1 point for each correct guess, while each player earns 1 point for each correct guess they made.
The game includes three types of challenging words that are harder to draw but worth 2 points if guessed:
- 2-Player: Create the drawing in the air with another player.
- Don't Look: Draw with eyes closed.
- Forbidden Word: Guessing a specific word costs a card.
After two rounds for each player as the drawer (or one round in a game with seven or more players), the game ends, and the player with the most points wins.
