Colorex water inks are ready to use from the packaging or can be diluted with water. If used as airbrush colors, they can be applied without dilution except for the metallic colors rich gold, pale gold, and silver, which due to their high concentration need to be diluted in a minimum ratio of 50% ink / 50% water for better homogenization. Colorex water inks are also used as refill colors for Colorex watercolor markers.
