The Rega Planar 3 RS Edition (Rega Special) features an aluminum metal HPL laminate skin, creating the most solid plinth in the Planar 3 category. The dark, brushed metal plinth, with a glossy black finish, offers an excellent base for the iconic Planar 3. The RS Edition includes a custom Neo MK2 PSU with each motor vibration circuit manually adjusted for each individual motor. This 24V low noise motor controls the sub-plinth via the Reference EBLT belt, ensuring precise speed control. Finally, the handmade RB330 tonearm is installed and supplied with the award-winning Nd5 moving magnet cartridge.

The design of the Planar 3 RS Edition extends the philosophy of a light and extremely solid plinth, using HPL entirely typical of Planar 6, 8, and 10 models. This plinth incorporates a double brace system for increased rigidity, with additional length to reduce energy absorption and unwanted vibrations.

The Nd5 Moving Magnet Cartridge is handmade and features an elliptical glass stylus. Its design offers superior crosstalk characteristics and a larger soundstage. The new windows are wound with 38 fine wires for better high-frequency response.

The Neo MK2 PSU provides adjustable speed and an advanced vibration suppression circuit, reducing motor noise and improving speed stability. The double brace system enhances the plinth structure, eliminating resonances and unwanted energy transmission.

The central base is designed with patented brass for better fit and construction, while the RB330 tonearm combines 40 years of design experience with new geometry development for improved stability.
