ΑQUARUST is an alkyd anti-corrosion primer for new or previously painted iron surfaces, worn galvanized surfaces, and other interior and exterior metal surfaces. The anti-corrosion pigmented organic-modified zinc phosphate protects the metal from corrosion and rust. It has excellent adhesion to metal and other painted surfaces, making it suitable for use as an intermediate protective coating. It provides a smooth surface for high-quality finishes.
The basic prerequisite for achieving good results is thorough preparation. After removing all old paints, loose materials, and oils, sand the surface and remove dust with a cloth.
Painted metal surfaces:
Use sandblasting or sanding to remove rust. Clean the surface from dust. Prime with the AQUARUST primer, 1-2 coats.
New metal surfaces:
Degrease the surface using Thinner 135. Prime with the AQUARUST primer, 1-2 coats.
Application with roller, brush, and airless spray. Dilution with 5-15% WATER.
The ambient temperature and the thickness of the coating determine the drying time.
Surface drying: 1-2 hours.
Re-coating time: 4-6 hours.
Coverage: 7-11m²/liter, depending on the thickness of each coat and the absorbency of the surface.
