9 Years of Shadows is a side-scrolling Metroidvania game created by Halberd Studios.

The player travels with Europa, a brave warrior determined to enter the mechanical giant Talló and stop the corruption from within before it swallows the world in darkness.

Fighting infected creatures, meeting charismatic musicians, and uncovering the truth behind the curse that has drained all color from the land are key elements of the game.

Many have tried to explore the distorted dimensions of Talló, a sleeping fortress where various civilizations have settled over the centuries. After losing those she loved, Europa now has nothing to stop her from attempting what others could not. As a noble warrior who refuses to be associated with the curse, she must enter the castle, find the source of the corruption, and restore color to the world.

This adventure is not one she must face alone. Inside the giant, she befriends Apino, a cute flying bear who appears to possess magical abilities that can restore color and heal her allies. He is also able to protect his companions from the many dangers lurking in the corridors of Talló.
