Description

The analog semi-monophonic synthesizer Behringer K-2 MK II is a powerful tool, suitable for beginners and experienced sound designers alike. It offers an extensive range of vintage-inspired sounds, combined with modern connectivity features.

One of the key features of the K-2 MK II is the dual analog VCO section, which includes four adjustable waveforms: sawtooth, square, triangle, and variable pulse width. Additionally, the synthesizer includes ring modulation to enrich its harmonic content.

With the MK II version, new controls have been added for oscillator sync, frequency modulation (FM), and pulse width modulation (PWM), extending the sonic capabilities. The dual analog Rev1 filter, modeled after the classic Korg MS-20, offers excellent flexibility in sound shaping.

  • High and low frequency filter with resonance control
  • Analog low-frequency oscillator (LFO) with pulse and triangle outputs
  • Two analog envelope generators (ADSHR and DSR) for dynamic modulation

The semi-modular architecture provides excellent out-of-the-box functionality, minimizing the need for additional patch cables. Nevertheless, the extensive 32-point CV/signal connection source allows for extensive internal signal routing.

Additionally, the unit supports Poly Chain operation, which allows connecting up to 16 units, offering polyphonic capabilities up to 16 voices, facilitating the creation of extensive compositions.

The MIDI interface includes In, Out, and Thru via 5-pin DIN connection and USB MIDI support via USB 2.0 type B, ensuring smooth integration with modern DAWs and MIDI consoles.

With compact dimensions of approximately 94 x 424 x 136 mm and a weight of around 1.8 kg, this synthesizer is both portable and powerful. The 36 dedicated controls allow intuitive, real-time control over all essential parameters for creative sound shaping.
