Dimensions: Pot diameter: 14 cm, Height: 30 cm
The Black Tree Aeonium variety is evergreen and produces medium-sized perennial succulents with:
- Upright or laterally branched stems
- Leaves arranged in a rosette, with deep black and green color in the center
- Spatula-shaped, ovate to oblique lanceolate, with a pointed tip
The plant’s flowers appear in summer in a large and impressive conical inflorescence with yellow color. It is a very decorative and hardy plant, suitable for planting in garden soil, pots, gravel, or rock gardens. It is an award-winning variety with the RHS Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticulture Society.
The variety has leaves with an almost black coloration and, unlike other succulents, grows in winter and goes dormant in summer. New growth starts from the center of the rosette, while as it grows, the outer leaves begin to fall off, exposing the stem that holds the rosette.
If someone wishes to maintain the plant's appearance, they can cut the stem 2-5 cm below the last leaf and plant it in a new pot. Suitable for planting in pots, arrangements with other succulents, or in rock gardens, where it stands out with its unique color. The variety is very hardy, requires minimal care, and watering only in very hot conditions. The foliage color varies and depends on sun exposure, season, and climate.
