My primary interest is the development of a modern Greek-Western anthropology with a theological foundation, which can also offer some responses to philosophical and psychological inquiries. This research has occupied me throughout the past years.
I am convinced that, without a new approach to Greek-Western theological thought, in a perspective of re-interpretation and utilization, it is absolutely impossible to construct a convincing anthropological metaphysics today. The postmodern subversion of metaphysics has marginalized all modern ambitions to build any kind of ontological or moral theory about humans, to the extent that it remains decisively disconnected from most of our common Greek-Western philosophical-theological sources of the past.
But even if it is true that some of the most destructive distortions of modern subjectivity arose, in seed, precisely from this past, it also seems true that we can draw inspiration for our new Christian, Greek-Western self-understanding from this very same, not yet saturated, source.
Again, the dialogue with the past, in the perspective of a modern re-interpretation, does not exhaust itself in historical fidelity, but refers to a fruitful way of building the future.
