The Buiningia brevicylindrica is a compact, ribbed column featuring symmetrical areoles and elegant spines. Ideal for mini collections and shallow bowls, it prefers sunny or very bright spots and requires rare watering, allowing the mix to dry completely between them.

Its cultivation is easy, while it grows best in poor, mineral substrates. It is suitable for compositions with other cacti such as Echinocereus spp. and Gymnocalycium spp..

Adaptations: Thick parenchymal tissue for water storage and waxy epidermis to limit transpiration.
