Power (in Watts) determines the strength of the motor. More Watts offer speed and durability for many or large poultry.

The number of revolutions per minute (RPM) determines the speed at which the drum or the shaft with the plucking fingers rotates. The ideal speed provides effective feather removal without damaging the body of the poultry.

The number of rubber fingers determines the density of contact with the bird. More fingers ensure cleaning in less time.

The drum diameter (usually in centimeters) determines the capacity of the plucker. A larger diameter allows for the comfortable processing of large poultry (e.g. turkeys, geese) or the simultaneous cleaning of multiple smaller birds (e.g. chickens).

The weight of the device affects portability as well as stability during operation, since heavier machines do not vibrate easily.
