The Rothoblaas Self-Adhesive Radon and Vapor Barrier Mesh Membrane is a vapor barrier and radon gas membrane with a fully self-adhesive surface, ensuring quick and secure installation without compromising performance. Thanks to its composition, the membrane is unaffected by mechanical stresses or puncturing with staples and nails.

The membrane composition consists of a functional aluminumized PE film as the top layer, a reinforcing PE mesh in the middle layer, and a PE film in the bottom layer. The adhesive is a solvent-free acrylic dispersion, and the release liner is made of removable plastic film.

Its performance includes a surface mass of 300 g/m², thickness of 0.15 mm, and vapor permeability (Sd) of 4000 m according to EN 1931. The tensile strength MD/CD is greater than 400/400 N/50mm, elongation MD/CD greater than 10/10%, while the nail tear resistance MD/CD exceeds 300/300 N. The membrane is fully waterproof according to EN 1928 and classified as B-s1, d0 according to EN 13501-1 for reaction to fire. It withstands temperatures from -20 to +80 °C and offers UV resistance for 336 hours (3 months).

The radon diffusion coefficient (D) is < 3.5·10⁻¹⁵ m²/s, diffusion length (l) < 0.000041 m, and reflectivity is approximately 70%. The thermal conductivity coefficient is about 0.39 W/(m·K), specific heat approximately 1700 J/(kg·K), and density around 600 kg/m³. The vapor diffusion resistance factor (μ) reaches 10,000,000, while air penetration resistance is 0.02 m³/(m²·h·50Pa). The membrane fully complies with standards EN 1296 / EN 1931 after artificial aging.

Thanks to its composition, it provides maximum resistance to vapor and radon passage. The high reflectivity of up to 70% improves panel thermal insulation, while the reinforcing mesh ensures excellent dimensional stability even under mechanical stress. It is ideal in combination with TERRA BAND UV and ALU BUTYL BAND tapes for perfect seam sealing and is tested according to ISO/TS 11665-13 for perimeter and foundation protection.

The membrane is installed inside walls, floors, or roofs to reduce moisture transmission through the structure. Its main purpose is to prevent moisture condensation in walls, protect the construction from damage, and avoid mold growth. Additionally, it acts as a barrier against radon gas intrusion.

On floors, it is placed under the covering for protection against rising damp and condensation. It offers additional radon shielding in foundations. On interior walls, it is applied on the inner side, between drywall or cladding and the outer layer. On roofs, it is installed on the inner side, under the insulation, and near living spaces.

For proper application, the substrate must be dry, clean, and free of dust or greasy substances. The membrane is unrolled onto the surface, the release film is gradually removed, and it is pressed firmly to ensure proper adhesion. Overlaps must be at least 15 cm for perfect sealing, and the use of sealing points at nails and screws is recommended. The membrane can be used both as temporary protection during construction and as a long-term functional layer.
