Malifaux is a world of danger, wonder, and ambition. Connected to Earth through a dimensional rift known as the Great Rift, it is a place where magic flourishes, where lost technologies and hidden secrets await discovery. For those brave enough to traverse it, the land offers opportunities beyond imagination. However, the cost is high and few emerge unscathed.

Humankind discovered Malifaux when the Great Rift opened in Santa Fae, New Mexico. They entered a desolate landscape… but treasures awaited there. Constructions, relics, and spell books quickly transformed humanity and Earth forever. Wizards took up necromancy, driven mad by whispers warning them to push the boundaries of death magic. Earth's declining magic was bolstered by Soulstones: beautiful stones mined from deep underground, each capable of storing incredible amounts of energy. Industry flourished. Then, everything collapsed!

Malifaux is a skirmish miniature game set in a horror/steampunk environment. Each player crafts a force of 5-7 figures from a faction to engage in battle. A force consists of subordinates and at least one master. Malifaux involves resource management elements, as hands of cards are used instead of dice to resolve skill checks. Each check involves drawing a card from a deck and adding it to a figure’s stats. Players can then play cards from their hand to boost values. The highest value wins against an opposing check. The turn system is integrated, with each player alternating turns between model activations.

The miniatures come unpainted. Preparation and assembly may be required.

Malifaux models are 32mm "heroic" scale miniatures made from high-quality plastic.
