Made from dressing gauze according to the EN 14079 standard type 17. It is equipped with a single-strand X-ray thread containing 60% barium sulfate. The X-ray thread is applied in a snake pattern. The cut edges of the gauze are folded inward. The gauze is packaged in sterile paper bags of 100 pieces each.

If used in surgery for wound covering, for the drainage of blood and exudates, or as a tampon, the X-ray gauze must be sterilized before use with a validated sterilization method.
