History of this substance: These sticks are made in India, in the state of Karnataka, using the method called Dry masala bhattis. The dry, sticky paste is made from white sandalwood powder and rubber oil, and is hand-rolled onto a reed stick, then left to dry naturally in the warm, dry air.
