The Hawker Sea Fury is a British all-metal fighter-bomber from the end of World War II. Its maiden flight took place on February 21, 1945, and it entered service with the FAA later that year.
The aircraft's propulsion is provided by a powerful Bristol Centaurus 18 engine with 2,480 horsepower. The Hawker Sea Fury was the last classic fighter of the Royal Navy, evolving from the Hawker Typhoon and Hawker Tempest aircraft.
Initially, the aircraft was designed for the needs of the RAF, but later, in 1943, modifications were started for the Royal Navy. The first Sea Fury prototype took off two years later, without folding wings, and after suitable modifications, an order was placed for 200 aircraft of this type.
After the end of the war, improvements were made to aircraft carrier operations, and in early 1947, the aircraft received the necessary certification.
