The new Huawei SmartGuard device is designed to address power outages in residential buildings. Huawei's backup solution includes photovoltaic strings, Huawei Smart String ESS, single-phase Huawei inverters, SmartGuard, the grid, and primary loads. The SmartGuard monitors the inverter's operation both under normal and unstable grid conditions. Its main function is to switch the inverter promptly between grid-tied operation and off-grid mode. When the grid is available, the inverter operates in grid-tied mode, supplying power to both primary and secondary loads. In case of a power outage, the inverter quickly switches to off-grid mode and supplies only backup loads until the grid is restored.
The SmartGuard-63A-S0 is equipped with EMMA, Huawei's energy management assistant, to optimize backup operation and enable smart load management features. The integration of smart loads, such as Huawei smart chargers, SG Ready heat pumps, and smart switches within the new SmartGuard network, offers increased functionality.
