SmallRig batteries are one of those products I really didn’t expect to appreciate this much.

I use them in the X-T50 and so far my experience has been flawless. The camera recognizes them normally, shows the remaining battery level, and I haven’t encountered any reliability or performance issues compared to the original one.

The big advantage for me is USB-C charging. You don’t need to carry a separate charger everywhere. You can charge them from a power bank, a phone charger, or in the car, which in real professional work is much more useful than it sounds. SmallRig’s newer models also offer a battery level indicator and fast charging.

In terms of battery life, I haven’t seen anything that makes me distinguish them negatively from the original batteries. I use them normally on jobs and I don’t feel that buying third-party batteries meant making any compromise.

For me, the most important thing is that they work as they should and simply... you forget about them. You don’t think about whether they’ll throw up an error message, whether the camera will recognize them, or whether they’ll cause any problem.

Given the price difference from the originals, I consider them one of those purchases that are truly worth it. Personally, I would no longer spend the money just so the battery has the camera’s logo on it.

Very good quality, very practical USB-C charging, and so far absolutely reliable. I recommend them without a second thought.
