The rim of the Mavic Deemax Park 27.5" Boost Disc Shimano wheel is made from Maxtal aluminum alloy, a special formulation by the brand. It is more durable and lighter than standard materials, allowing the wheel to withstand landings from large jumps. Additionally, the rim walls use PFP technology to prevent damage.
