The SRAM Red 22 is an uncompromising race-style handlebar. With the complete redesign of Red, there was nothing that could be improved. Completely new, built from scratch with innovations that experts and professional athletes spent an entire year developing and testing. It features characteristics and advantages tailored to the needs of professionals — fast, lightweight, aerodynamic, ergonomic, nearly silent, and of course trim-free thanks to the revolutionary Yaw technology. The addition of two gear combinations was the only necessary upgrade, which also provides the advantage of an incredibly fast front shifting system with the best and smoothest rear shift progression, all without adding weight.

The SRAM Red 22 is the lightest and stiffest road handlebar. The Exogram design features carbon with hollow arms extending to the tips. SRAM Red 22 chains have fuller profiles that provide greater stiffness while using less material to reduce weight. The handlebar is equipped with new, wider, and stiffer X-Glide R aluminum chainrings, designed to work with the front derailleur that features Yaw technology.

• X-Glide — No more missed shifts. X-Glide delivers the right gear at every moment. The X-Glide technology focuses on optimizing and improving shifting quality, used in handlebar designs, front derailleurs, and SRAM cassettes. Originally developed by Truvativ engineers, it completely abandoned traditional handlebar chain designs and was redesigned from the ground up.
• The different-sized chains are combined accurately, redefining the principle and arrangement of the components responsible for shifting, guiding the chain up and down along the ring bodies. X-Glide doubles the potential engagement points of the chain. The pins in the chains are synchronized with the chain pins, unlike traditional solutions where the connection point is the outer plate of the chain link.
