The N23A filter is ideal for detailed planetary observations. The barrel diameter is 1.25". The blue/blue-green light is completely blocked, while the contrast between dark and bright areas is significantly enhanced. This is especially useful when observing Jupiter or Saturn, as well as viewing the poles of Mars. Color filters slightly darken the light reaching the eye or camera sensor, reducing strong transitions. The result is an image with increased contrast that reveals more details.
