I've got to say that both rear and front sides have rubber anti-vibration pads. Thermaltake fan is very quiet and I can only hear it when I put my ear close to the case. You can control the fan speed via MSI BIOS by adjusting its voltage (6.24 - 12V). I measured a max speed of 1655 RPM which is 155 RPM higher than the manufacturer's claimed speed. The fan does not get loud even under its max input power and delivers efficient airflow. I didn't notice improperly functioning.
