What is vacuum insulation? Vacuum insulation means that the air between the outer and inner layers of stainless steel has been removed to create a vacuum insulation. This blocks heat transfer through the air (conduction). The ZOJIRUSHI vacuum insulation also includes a layer of copper or aluminum tightly wrapped around the outside of the inner stainless steel layer.
