A plant endemic to Mexico and Costa Rica. It is found at altitudes from 800 to 1500 m. Its leaves are rigid and oriented upwards, curling at the edges, with a characteristic green/silver hue. It produces yellow and purple flowers that naturally attract bees and hummingbirds as pollinators. New plants appear at the base of the parent plant.

Air plants need indirect, filtered light to be robust and healthy. Place them in a bright spot, but avoid direct sunlight as exposure can cause leaf burns. They thrive exceptionally well under artificial light, making them suitable for indoor cultivation, especially in homes and offices.
