Havana cigars, also known as Habanos, are handmade high-quality cigars rolled in factories across Cuba and go through very strict quality controls. The high quality of the tobacco is due to the composition of the soil and the island's climatic conditions.

Cohiba cigars, one of the most famous brands worldwide, were first created in 1966 to meet the needs of Fidel Castro and high-ranking officials of the Communist Party. They became available to the public in 1982 and are made from premium quality tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo region, like Partagás cigars, with the additional process of fermentation.
