I have used them twice in a row (in the 5w-40 version) on my Fiat 1.4 T-Jet 120hp. Both times, I changed them at around 7-7.5 thousand kilometers, always together with the filter, mainly because my car usually indicates this mileage for annual changes and I don't want to keep the oil for more than a year.
The engine operates normally, starts normally in winter (although I note that I live in Athens and not in Nea Makri...), normal warm-up, normal temperatures, normal consumption.
Overall, I didn't notice any difference compared to the Selenia oils recommended by the manufacturer that I used before, so I conclude that it is a good oil, although I haven't pushed it to its limits since the changes are done at 1/4 of the mileage interval stated in the manual... (30,000 km - if possible...!!!)
At around 7-7.5 thousand kilometers, they come out relatively clean, "oily," and in my opinion, they could last much longer. The engine has almost zero oil consumption at 100,000 kilometers (around 250-300ml between changes, which means around 40ml/1,000 km), and I haven't noticed anything different with these oils.
My biggest fear and the main deterrent for me to continue using them are the counterfeit products circulating, which have made the purchase of Castrol oils seem like Russian roulette. That's why I deduct one star...
Since I currently have these oils in my car and with a long summer trip ahead, I plan to keep them until 10,000 km to see how they perform.
However, regardless of whether it is a good oil or not (which it probably is), the fact that there are countless counterfeit Castrol products makes me want to try something more "reliable" next time - maybe Liqui Moly...
UPDATE: Due to a long summer road trip, this time the car has covered more kilometers than usual, and the oil was changed today, 6-9-23 (always with the filter), at almost 9,500 km, which is about 2-2.5 thousand kilometers more than usual for me.
Despite these additional kilometers, the overall performance was the same as when I change the oil at 7-7.5K. The same "oily" feeling when touching it.
After three oil changes, my conclusion is that these are good oils and can withstand more than 10,000 km, although I have no intention of exceeding this limit under any circumstances.
Although I had concerns about the authenticity of the circulating Castrol products, I ended up using the same ones again, overcoming my fear of counterfeit products by getting the oil and filter changed at an official Castrol service center - I want to believe that an official Castrol service center would use genuine products...
If the positive impressions continue, it is likely that I will stick with these oils.
Τα έχω χρησιμοποιήσει 2 φορές απανωτά (στην έκδοση 5w-40) σε Fiat 1,4 T-Jet 120hp.
Και τις 2 φορές αλλάχτηκαν στα 7-7,5 χιλιάδες χιλιόμετρα πάντα μαζί με το φίλτρο, κυρίως γιατί τόσα συνήθως γράφει το αυτοκίνητο σε ετήσια βάση και δεν θέλω να κρατάω μέσα τα λάδια πάνω από 1 χρόνο.
Κανονική λειτουργία του μοτέρ, κανονική χειμωνιάτικη εκκίνηση (σημειώνω όμως ότι μένω στην Αθήνα και όχι στο Νευροκόπι...), κανονικό ζέσταμα, κανονικές θερμοκρασίες, κανονική κατανάλωση.
Γενικά δεν παρατήρησα καμία διαφορά σε σχέση με τα Selenia που συνιστά ο κατασκευαστής και έβαζα πριν, άρα συμπεραίνω ότι είναι καλό λάδι, χωρίς όμως να το έχω τραβήξει στα όρια αφού οι αλλαγές γίνονται στο 1/4 του χιλιομετρικού διαστήματος που λέει το μάνουαλ... (30.000 χλμ - αν είναι δυνατόν...!!!)
Στα 7-7,5 χιλιάδες χιλιόμετρα βγαίνουν σχετικά καθαρά, "λιπαρά", και στο μάτι μου δείχνουν ότι θα αντέχανε και αρκετά παραπάνω. Το μοτέρ στα 100.000 χιλιόμετρα έχει σχεδόν μηδενική κατανάλωση λαδιού (γύρω στα 250-300ml από αλλαγή σε αλλαγή- που σημαίνει γύρω στα 40ml/1.000 χλμ), και δεν παρατήρησα κάτι διαφορετικό με αυτά.
Ο μεγάλος μου φόβος και ο κύριος ανασταλτικός παράγοντας για να συνεχίσω να τα βάζω είναι οι μαϊμούδες που κυκλοφορούν και που έχουν κάνει την αγορά των castrol να μοιάζει με ρώσικη ρουλέτα. Για αυτό και το ένα αστέρι λιγότερο...
Μιας και τώρα έχω αυτά μέσα και έχοντας μπροστά μου ένα μεγάλο καλοκαιρινό ταξίδι, λέω αυτή την φορά να τα κρατήσω μέχρι τα 10.000 χλμ να δω πως θα πάνε.
Πάντως άσχετα με το αν είναι καλό λάδι ή όχι (που μάλλον είναι) και μόνο το γεγονός ότι κυκλοφορούν άπειρα castrol μαϊμού με κάνουν να δοκιμάσω κάτι πιο "σίγουρο" την επόμενη φορά - Liqui Moly ίσως...
UPDATE Λόγω ενός μεγάλου καλοκαιρινού road trip αυτή την φορά το αυτοκίνητο έγραψε παραπάνω χιλιόμετρα από το συνηθισμένο και τα λάδια αλλάχτηκαν σήμερα 6-9-23 (πάντα μαζί με το φίλτρο) στα σχεδόν 9.500 χλμ, δηλαδή περίπου 2-2,5 χιλιάδες πάνω από το συνηθισμένο μου.
Παρ' όλα τα επιπλέον αυτά χιλιόμετρα η όλη εικόνα τους ήταν η ίδια με αυτή που βλέπω όταν τα αλλάζω στα 7-7,5Κ. Το ίδιο και η "λιπαρότητα" στο χέρι.
Πλέον μετά από 3 αλλαγές το δικό μου συμπέρασμα είναι ότι είναι καλά λάδια και αντέχουν και πάνω από 10.000χλμ., αν και δεν έχω σκοπό να ξεπεράσω αυτό το όριο σε καμία περίπτωση.
Αν και είχα ενδοιασμούς για την γνησιότητα των castrol που κυκλοφορούν, τελικά ξανάβαλα τα ίδια ξεπερνώντας τον φόβο μου για μαϊμού προϊόν με το να κάνω την αλλαγή λαδιών και φίλτρου σε επίσημο Castrol συνεργείο - θέλω να πιστεύω ότι αν μη τι άλλο ένα επίσημο Castrol συνεργείο θα χρησιμοποιεί τα γνήσια...
Αν οι καλές εντυπώσεις συνεχιστούν το πιθανότερο είναι να παραμείνω σε αυτά.
